JEWELLERY SIZING & CARE
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
FINDING THE PERFECT FIT
I can create jewellery to any size required.
Please note that I use the UK sizing system (A to Z+)
I can measure to find your perfect fit at any events that I attend. Alternatively, your local jeweller should be able to assist you or you can estimate using the guidance below.
Please note that if you measure yourself using the below methods, this will establish an estimated size only and my advice would be for you to have your size measured professionally.
RING SIZING
For the most accurate sizing, you should ideally have your finger(s) measured by a jeweller. However, you can estimate your ring size with the below methods.
For the most accurate reading using a ring sizer or by string or paper, my suggestion would be to measure the finger in the evening - this is usually when the finger is at its largest.
Note - fingers are smaller by up to half a size when cold so make sure your hands are warm when measuring!
I would suggest measuring at least 3 times to ensure best accuracy. Thicker and wider rings may require sizing up by up to one size.
USING A RING SIZER
1. Wrap the ring sizer loosely around your finger and thread the tail end through the catch.
2. Gently tighten the sizer so that it is comfortable and not too tight - this should slide off relatively easily over the knuckle, but not fall off or feel loose when shaken.
3. The little arrow on the sizer will indicate a letter - this is the approximate ring size.
Ring sizers can be ordered from me at a cost of £4 including postage - please contact me on hello@hannahrosejewellery.co.uk to order.
USING STRING OR PAPER
1. Find a piece of string or strip of paper no wider than half an inch (1.4cm)
2. Wrap it around the base of the appropriate finger.
3. Use a pen to mark the point on the string/paper where it overlaps, forming a complete circle.
4. The string should slide over the knuckle fairly easily -pinch the ends of the string or paper together and test this. This may take a few attempts!
5. Measure the length from the starting end of the string/paper to the pen mark using a ruler.
6. Use the chart below to determine your UK ring size.

MEASURING YOUR SIZE
1. Find a piece of string or measuring tape.
2. Wrap it around the widest part of your hand - push your thumb in towards the palm of your hand as if you were putting a bangle on and join the ends of the string or tape together.
3. The bangle should be comfortable and not too loose against the wrist i.e. does not fall or slip off over the hand.
4. If using a measuring tape, note the measurement in centimeters and compare against the HRJ size guide for the most suitable size.
5. If using string, use a pen to mark the point on the string where it overlaps and use a ruler to measure the length. Compare against the HRJ size guide for the most suitable size.
Alternatively, if you have a bangle which already fits, you can measure inner internal diameter of this using a ruler or measuring tape.

MEASURING YOUR SIZE
Measure using an existing necklace chain:
1. Lay the chain out on a flat surface
2. Measure the length (including the clasp) using a ruler or tape measure.
Measure using tape or string:
1. If you don’t have a necklace to use as a reference, you can use a flexible tape measure or a piece of string.
2. Measure out the potential chain length by using string - you could cut individual 16/18/20/22/24 inch lengths to estimate where the necklace will sit and the length that would be most suitable for you.
MAINTAIN THAT SPARKLE
Wear and aftercare is key for pieces to stay radiant and slow down the tarnishing process.
I recommend not showering / bathing / swimming / cleaning / sleeping or exercising whilst wearing your beautiful jewellery.
Avoid applying or exposing your jewellery to any harsh chemicals, detergents, perfumes or hairsprays where possible.
Try to keep your jewellery dry and out of direct sunlight or damp conditions . Ideally, store away in a jewellery box when not wearing.
To clean, use the small polishing cloth provided or a soft cotton cloth.
